FM Pickleball Club Code of Conduct

 

The FM Pickleball Club is dedicated to fostering an environment of sportsmanship, fairness, and respect. All members are expected to uphold these values to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone and maintain the club’s positive reputation.

Core Values

Pickleball is a sport built on fun, competition, and social interaction. As a member of the FM Pickleball Club, you are expected to:

  1. Show Respect – Treat all players, officials, volunteers, staff, and spectators with courtesy and respect.
  2. Demonstrate Good Sportsmanship – Make honest and fair line calls, respect your opponents’ calls on their side of the court, and resolve any uncertainty in their favor.
  3. Follow Court Etiquette – Rotate on and off the courts fairly, following facility rules and ensuring equal playing opportunities.
  4. Prioritize Safety – Play responsibly and be mindful of others to prevent injuries.
  5. Be Kind – Foster a positive and welcoming environment for all members.
  6. Be Considerate – Balance competitive play by being mindful when playing with or against players of different skill levels.
  7. Support Your Partner – Encourage and respect your playing partner, regardless of the game’s outcome.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following actions will not be tolerated and will be subject to disciplinary action:

  • Harassment, Discrimination, or Bullying – Any form of verbal, physical, or emotional abuse.
  • Unsportsmanlike Conduct – Arguing, using offensive language, or displaying aggressive behavior.
  • Cheating – Deliberate rule violations or unfair tactics.
  • Property Damage – Vandalizing or damaging club facilities or equipment.
  • Substance Abuse – The use of drugs or alcohol during club activities.
  • Disrespect – Inappropriate behavior toward club officials, members, or guests.

Disciplinary Actions

Violations of the Code of Conduct will be addressed by the Board of Directors, with possible consequences including:

  • Verbal Warning – For minor infractions.
  • Written Warning – For repeated or more serious offenses.
  • Suspension – Temporary removal from club activities.
  • Expulsion – Permanent removal from the club for severe or repeated violations.
  • Restitution – Financial responsibility for any damages caused.

All members are expected to uphold the integrity of the FM Pickleball Club by treating others with respect and following these guidelines.
